EL FRONTON - MOYA
The "Las Marianas" farm is
located in the municipality of Moya, on the final tongue of land
known as El Frontón, 330 metres above sea level. The
temperature difference with regards to Moya itself is +3 C (6º
F) and the average temperature there is 21ºC (70º F).
The North coast of the island is 5 km
(3.11 miles) from the farm, offering unique sand and rock beaches,
the famous natural pools at San Felipe and the best and cheapest
fresh fish restaurants on the island.
The distance from the gate of the farm
to the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is 20.8 km (18 miles) and
the drive takes approximately 20 minutes by car in normal traffic.
The entire property is flat and enjoys
sea views from everywhere on it and the bedrooms, including views
overlooking Tenerife and the Teide from the western corner of the
farm.
This is a very peaceful area and the
only neighbours are on the farms next door, all of whom live in
typical Canarian farmhouses.
The access to the farm is good and you
can drive right up to the door of the three houses built on the
plot.
The El Frontón neighbourhood is
a five minute walk away and has a supermarket, restaurant, a churrería
(Canarian fritters shop), a Neighbours' association with its own
eatery, offering typical Canarian cooking at surprisingly low
prices.
The farm comprises two Canarian homes,
the main one is 90 square metres with two bedrooms, living-dining
room with stone kitchen and a large bathroom. The other house is 40
square metres with one bedroom and a large bathroom overlooking the
sea. Next to this house there is a 9 x 4 metre swimming pool lined
with blue Gresite, and an 80 square metre solarium built on the
rock, opening onto the horizon.
Both houses have been totally
renovated and are fully functional.
Between both houses, a traditional
style Canarian stone patio measuring 350 square metres has been
preserved.
Furthermore, there are three stables
with shingled roofs, each measuring 18 square metres, with feeding
and watering troughs for horses, and a paddock fenced in 2"
galvanised steel railings. Next the stables there is a 60 square
metre stone and shingled wine-cellar.
The BBQ area is located 30 metres (98
ft) from the houses and the patio and covers an area of
approximately 500 square metres (5,381.96 square feet).
A 10 square metre (108 square feet)
stone hut contains the electrical mains panel and two 1000 litre
(220 gallons) reserve water tanks for the farm with a 2CV
hydro-compressor (tap water is available round the clock and there
are no restrictions).
Each house and the stables and
wine-cellar have their own electric panel connected to a main panel.
There is another cinder-block hut near
the pond belonging to the property, which has not yet had a roof
installed. Its capacity is three hours of water (at 12 litres - 2.64
gallons- per second).
All around the farm, 52mm (2.5")
piping has been placed under ground, permitting planting to be
carried out anywhere and the electric cabling is also buried along
the perimeter.
The far has also been equipped with
phone land lines, DSL and 3MG.
All of this stands on a 5500 square
metre (59,202 square feet) plot, completely surrounded by dry stone
walls.
It is ideal because of its nearness
to the city and coast, the spectacular views it offers and the
tranquillity of the area it is located in.
